Why being close matters
Most comfort problems with a new leg are solved by small adjustments in the first weeks: a pad here, a change of angle there, an extra sock layer. Patients who live near the clinic can come in for ten minutes rather than putting up with a sore spot until the next long trip. For Gulshan families, that is the biggest advantage of being close.
Apartments, stairs and lifts
Many Gulshan homes are apartments, and a lift that stops during load-shedding means stairs. We practise stairs at the clinic as part of walking training: up with the sound leg, down with the artificial leg, one step at a time with a hand on the rail, until it feels routine.

Bringing a parent for short visits
Older patients tire quickly, so we keep sessions short and are happy for you to come back the next day rather than push through. Family members are welcome at every visit and can watch the training, so they know how to help at home without over-helping.
