Getting to Karachi from Sukkur
By road, the drive south takes most of a day. Plan rest stops: sitting still for hours with a fresh stump causes swelling, and a short walk helps.
By rail, trains on the main line stop at Rohri, across the river from Sukkur. A lower berth makes the journey easier with crutches, and many patients find the train less tiring than the road.
One stay, planned around your dates
We fit as much as we safely can into one stay: the assessment and casting on the first days, the test socket a few days later, then the final fitting and walking training. Tell us your travel dates when you call and we will plan the appointments around them.
Summer heat in upper Sindh
Sukkur summers are fierce, and heat makes the stump sweat inside the socket or liner. Take the leg or liner off at midday, dry the skin and the liner, and put it back on. A spare liner helps in the hottest months. If you can, travel early in the day.
Follow-up from a distance
After you go home, send photos or a short video on WhatsApp if anything changes: a new red mark, a loose feel, a new sound. Many questions can be answered that way. If the stump is still shrinking, a temporary leg lets you go home walking and return later for the final socket.
