Getting to the clinic from North Nazimabad
The clinic is east across the city on Main University Road. Most patients come by car or ride-hailing app with a family member. Allow extra time at peak hours, and call us if you are running late; we would rather move the appointment than have you rush.
Fitting a leg for an older parent
Diabetes is the commonest reason a leg is lost in Pakistan without an accident, and it shapes how we fit. A stump after diabetic surgery needs a soft liner, a slower start and daily skin checks; an older patient often does best with a light leg and, above the knee, a locking knee that cannot give way. Our page on legs for older patients explains more.

Setting up the home
A few changes make the first weeks safer: a grab rail by the bed and in the bathroom, a sturdy stool for wudu, a non-slip mat, a night light on the way to the toilet, and loose rugs taken up. If your parent stands for wudu several times a day, a light waterproof leg is worth considering.
