Every leg we make starts with a free assessment: a proper look at the stump, your health, your home and what you want to do. You leave knowing whether you are ready for a leg, which type suits you and what it will cost, in writing, with no obligation.

What happens at a free amputee assessment?
The short answer
We examine the stump: healing, swelling, skin, scars, bone ends and how much weight it can take. We check the strength and movement of your hips and knees, your balance and your other leg, and we ask about your work, home, stairs, prayer and goals. Then we explain what kind of leg would suit you, how many visits it needs and what it costs.
The assessment is free, and the estimate you take away is in writing.

Starting with a photo on WhatsApp
If you are not sure you are ready, or you live far away, start on WhatsApp. Send clear photos of the stump from the front and the side, one of you standing if you can, and a close-up of the scar. We reply with what we see and the likely options. Photos help a lot, but they do not replace the assessment, because we need to examine the stump and see you stand.
What we will tell you honestly
Some people are not ready for a leg yet, and we will say so and show you what to do meanwhile. Some will walk better with a simple leg than an expensive one, and we will say that too. For some older or very unwell patients, a good wheelchair is the better answer, at least for now. And sometimes an existing leg just needs a new socket or an adjustment rather than replacing.
For families abroad
Sons and daughters abroad can join the assessment by phone or video call, send the medical notes in advance, and receive the written estimate on WhatsApp. That way the whole family hears the same advice at the same time.
Travelling to us?
Booking an assessment from another city or country
Tell us your city or country and your travel dates when you call. We plan the visits as close together as the stump allows, so most patients can finish the casting, test socket and fitting in one stay, whether they come from Quetta or fly in from Dubai, with a shorter trip later for adjustments if needed.

Is the assessment really free?
Yes. There is no charge for the assessment and no obligation to order anything.
How long does the assessment take?
About an hour. Bring a family member if you like; they are welcome to listen and ask questions.
Can I have the assessment on WhatsApp?
You can start there by sending photos and notes, and we reply with what we see. A proper assessment still needs you at the clinic, because we have to examine the stump and see you stand.
What if I am not ready for a leg yet?
We tell you, explain why, and show you what to do in the meantime, such as shrinker socks and exercises, so you are ready sooner.
