In short
The short answer
Patients from Sindh are seen at our Karachi clinic on Main University Road, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Hyderabad is close enough for day visits; families from upper Sindh, such as Sukkur, Larkana and Jacobabad, usually stay in Karachi for the visits, often with relatives.
Call or WhatsApp first with the level, the surgery date and a photo of the stump, and we will plan the days with you.

Travel notesHyderabad and lower Sindh. The M-9 motorway links Hyderabad and Karachi, and many families from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and nearby towns travel for the day, returning home between visits.
Upper Sindh. From Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Nawabshah, the journey is long by road, and trains run to Karachi on the main line. Most families from upper Sindh stay in Karachi for the visits rather than travelling back and forth.
Summers across interior Sindh are among the hottest in the country, and heat makes the stump sweat inside the socket or liner. We teach every patient to take the leg or liner off at midday, dry the skin and the liner, and put it back on. A spare liner helps in the hottest months. Travel early in the day where you can.
Diabetes is the main cause of leg amputation in Pakistan, and many of our patients from Sindh have lost a leg to a diabetic foot wound. A leg after diabetic amputation needs a softer socket, a slower start and daily skin checks, and the other foot needs protecting too. Our page on legs after diabetic amputation explains more.
